HEADING BACK TO THE HEART OF SOUL MUSIC.

Welcome back to Cardboard Sessions! Our newest series where innovation meets music–creating one-of-a-kind tracks by your favorite artists.

It’s all possible thanks to our partners-in-innovation over at Signal Snowboards. Through their huge network, we’ve had the opportunity to put our cardboard Fender Stratocaster and paper drum kit into the hands of world-renowned musicians. And that’s where the real magic happens. No scripts. No limits. Just jams where your favorite songs are created.

For our latest episode, we headed back to the jazz capital of the world and witnessed the magic of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band jamming out on our paper instruments at Preservation Hall.

PRESERVING THE HISTORY OF JAZZ THROUGH THE FUTURE OF CARDBOARD.

All of our episodes have been iconic in their own way, but episode 6 features a first. It takes place in a historic music venue that’s been around for more than 70 years. The Preservation Hall kept jazz music alive since the beginning—giving musicians a space to perform and bystanders a place to enjoy live music.

The space itself tells a story. But so does the ensemble we have playing our cardboard instruments.

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band has been gifting the world with feel-good music since the early 1960s. They’ve won numerous awards, including the National Medal of Arts, the country’s highest honor for artistic excellence. The band has also collaborated with musicians from all kinds of genres, like My Morning Jacket, Foo Fighters and Blind Boys of Alabama.

This seven-man band has toured across the country and the world—displaying the unbreakable spirit of New Orleans. And now they’re bringing that same larger-than-life energy and passion to our intimate Cardboard Sessions space.

THE CREATORS BEHIND THE CARDBOARD.

We’ve released six episodes of Cardboard Sessions and our paper instruments still haven’t missed a beat. That’s because of our Senior Design Specialists. It’s their expertise and knowledge that created our corrugated guitar, drums and a lot of other impossible-turned-possible cardboard creations.

So, let’s get ready to listen to the newest ep of Cardboard Sessions. Grab your headphones and crank up the volume to fully immerse yourself in these original tracks on SoundCloud that you won’t hear anywhere else. And make sure you subscribe to stay up-to-date on new releases.
