Mr. Charles Wilson, Ernest’s Packaging’s chairman and CEO, is a consistent and friendly face at the Ernest headquarters. A few weeks ago, Mr. Wilson, who co-founded the company with his brother Ernest, did something that we couldn’t believe.
He dropped down in the middle of the office and did 20 push ups. Oh, and did we mention that he’s 90 years old!
Mr. Wilson doesn’t let his age slow him down. If anything — like a fine wine — he just keeps getting better!
It’s easy to think of “old” as meaning “slow” or “boring”, but it certainly doesn’t have to be.
Last year Fast Company named 114-year-old Dodge and 51-year-old Nike as two of the world’s most innovative companies. A major breakthrough in 3D printing recently came from an 83-year-old inventor. At 88 year old, Chuck Berry still provides that he’s one of rock and roll’s great pioneers by performing monthly at a bar in St. Louis.
Like Dodge and Nike, Ernest Packaging is showing no signs of age. We have been around for more than 60 years, and — as you can see with our recent cardboard push bike and cardboard surfboard — we continue to stay fresh and innovate!
Age is nothing but a number for people who are willing to think young. If anything, age can be a real asset, at Mr. Wilson brings more than 60 years of expertise and wisdom with him. He and Ernest Packaging have been finding new solutions for our customers for more than six decades, and we have no plans of slowing down! They say that you’re only as old as you feel, and we feel great!
