By using a little bit of creative thinking, there is no limit to the power of paper. Disabled children in New York City are getting affordable furniture that meets their needs thanks to paper.
Many standard pieces of furniture provide problems for people with special needs. Customized equipment can be extremely expensive for families who are often already dealing with large medical bills.
Adaptive Design is a Manhattan-based non-profit that designs and builds furniture and equipment for these children. They use every material — primarily corrugated paper — which allows them to very be flexible and imaginative in their designs while also keeping the cost down for families.
In the video below, an amazing young woman named Raven shows how this adaptive furniture makes it easier for her to get around.
We love having fun with paper, and we also believe in the importance of family. The world done by Adaptive Design is a wonderful example that innovation and the right materials can change more than just your business — they can change lives, too.
