Throwback Thursday: Win Your Game Day Tailgate This Season

September 04, 2019

Football season is back again! We know that when game day hits, you want to win more than just the game. You want to win the tailgate! Luckily, we’re here to remind you of a few key tailgating hacks that have proven effective in past seasons. Now, let’s get prepped and get PUMPED!

It’s finally gridiron season, which means time for football tailgating. Whether your buddies are heading to an NFL game or your family is going to your alma mater for some college ball, football games are always a great way to spend an autumn weekend.

Of course, your day can get sidelined quickly if your food isn’t properly packaged and kept cool. Keep on the offense with these helpful tips for maintaining your tailgate food:

1. Keep your cooler cold and airtight.

We can’t stress enough how important it is for your food to stay cold and in airtight packages. That’s even why we created TempEndure® engineered systems. Warm beer is gross, but rotten meat is dangerous. Make sure that you have a nice cooler, and don’t skimp on the ice.

2. Pack your cooler to allow the most food.

3. Use frozen water bottles to keep your cooler cold.

Placing frozen water bottles in your cooler will do two things: (1.) Keep your food cold, and (2.) Provide you with nice cool water once they thaw.

4. Use an empty laundry detergent dispenser as a hand washing station.

Especially when you’re cooking raw meat, it’s incredibly important to keep your hands clean. This simple hack will help everyone keep clean and safe.

5. Bring an extra cooler or tub.

You need somewhere to put your dirty dishes and extra food as you finish things. You don’t want it to be mixed in with the food that people are eating — gross! — so bring an extra tub for everything that is ready to take home. You’ll thank us when you don’t get salmonella.

No one wants to see a 300-lb. lineman with food poisoning. So if you’d like to talk to us about safer food packaging solutions or TempEndure®,  contact us today.
