The Cardboard Guitar is our most successful Cardboard Chaos installment yet, with over three million views and shares around the world. The video even attracted interest from the Smithsonian! We once again partnered with Signal Snowboards as well as legendary guitar maker, Fender. Ernest’s engineering team and Fender’s master craftsmen teamed up to produce an iconic Fender Stratocaster electric guitar made entirely out of cardboard. Overcoming incredible strength and structural challenges, we created an amazing, playable cardboard Stratocaster, complete with Fender’s certificate of authenticity. But the real question was whether it could duplicate that one-of-a-kind Strat sound? Luckily, rocker Brad Delson from a little band called Linkin Park was more than happy to take it for a test drive. The conclusion? “It sounds just like a Strat.”
