It started with a Cardboard Fender Stratocaster guitar. Then a cardboard drum kit with Masters of Maple. And now, our lowest but certainly not least, the Fender bass guitar. Wow, cardboard never looked or sounded so damn good. It’s a true testament to what can be achieved when the ultimate combination of talent and teamwork come together.
In this installation of Cardboard Chaos, we found ourselves back in the capable hands of Ernest’s Director of Design,, Mike Martinez, who partnered with Dave Lee. After crafting the bass’s body with a corrugated structure, the pair then took the groovy structure (pun intended) to Fender, where Paul Waller, Master Builder, sculpted, sanded, and musically constructed the bass.
Enter Brady Watt, American producer, bass player, and all-around badass bandleader. We tapped Watt to take the state-of-the-art set of strings on a spin to make sure it was up to snuff. The result? One heavy hit after another.
The bass guitar completes the band, but it is certainly not the end of the chaos. Stay tuned to see what’s coming next.
