Cardboard Magic in the Sun

November 12, 2015

What can you do with a little bit of corrugated cardboard, a camera and a nice view of the setting sun? Well, you can do anything…if you tap into your imagination!

For instance you could …

Sword fight a swordfish.

Or talk woodwork with a beaver

John Marshall has some free time (and cardboard) and began making “Sunset Selfies” from an island off the coast of Maine. He describes the project as creating “Cardboard magic at the end of the day.” As the people who know a thing or two about making cardboard do impossible things, we call it brilliant!

The process isn’t too difficult. John cuts out characters from corrugated, stabilizes with tape and broomsticks and takes a photo looking into the sunset (which make the foreground appear as a flat black matte).
