Need A Way To Reuse Your Cardboard Packaging?

August 29, 2012

At Ernest Packaging Solutions, we’re always challenging ourselves to search for ways to cut costs for our clients by using recyclable materials, reusing packaging materials when possible and reducing the overall amount of packaging needed.

But every once in a while, we like to talk about out-of-the-box uses for packaging that are JUST PLAIN FUN!

Need some innovative ideas for reusing your old cardboard packaging? Check out the ideas below.

1. ) How about trying out some LARP-ing! Don’t know what that is? Watch the following video:

Still confused? For those who don’t know, LARP is a live-action role-playing game. Think World of Warcraft, but in real life! Put on your cardboard armor, scoop up your cardboard shield, wield your cardboard tube sword and have a good ol’ time!

(And if you feel a little too nerdy admitting that you’re LARP-ing, just keep telling yourself that you’re having a cardboard sword fight!)

2.) Make your own cardboard spaceship.

You can download free instructions on how to make this cardboard spaceship from the website of Mr. McGroovy’s.

Once you’ve completed the assembly of the spaceship, fly yourself on over to Ernest Packaging Solutions, and let us have a spin!

3.) Craft a homemade wallet.

RePlayGround has a great tutorial on how to make a wallet or business card holder from cardboard food boxes. Feel free to add your own quirky style to the project!

Will you be trying any of these cool projects? In the comments section, let us know how your project turned out, or be sure to list any of your own cardboard reuse ideas!
