Virtual Supermarket Is Like Netflix For Groceries

August 07, 2012

Efficiency. Innovation. Awesomeness. Just to name a few things that we’re really into here at Ernest Packaging Solutions.

So when we came across this virtual supermarket, we were instantly psyched!

Bit Rebels reported on Korea’s latest innovation that will surely save time, money and the planet! So aside from foregoing the need for lazy shelf-stockers, this type of store lets its customers scan a barcode to receive their desired product.

So it’s like Netflix for groceries. Customers can get the product they want, when they want it! They will no longer have to drive around to find a store that has their preferred item in stock, because all products are stored at a single warehouse that is connected to the digital infrastructure.

And ta-da! The groceries will arrive delivered to your home in no time at all.  Hey, Korea! We’ll be waiting for the call to help with packaging all those virtual groceries.

Smartphone access is required to scan the bar codes at the virtual supermarket. So, in case you need an excuse to pay for that smartphone upgrade, here’s your chance to get out of 1999 with that awful flip phone.

Chances are that sooner or later, this grocery shopping model will be headed to the USA. So you can put away your hand sanitizer, germophobes! No more pushing around heavy and germ-ridden carts.

So would you purchase your products from a virtual supermarket? Or is this a little too Jetsons-y for your liking? Either way, Ernest Packaging Solutions will be busy prepping for the influx on grocery shipping. Until then, we’ll have to put up with old-school grocery store shopping.
