April Fools’ Day — Packaging Pranks

April Fools prank

At Ernest Packaging Solutions, there’s nothing we love more than jokes…

APRIL FOOLS!

We love PACKAGING more than anything, but jokes are a close second. For all the hard work we do at Ernest, there’s always room for a little fun. Check out some of our favorite April Fools’ jokes from previous years as we look forward to all the entertainment this year!

MAN CRATES: PORCH PIRACY PROTECTION

The only thing worse than falling for an April Fools’ Joke is falling prey to porch pirates. Shouldn’t those guys be digging for buried treasure on a beach or something?? Man Crates found the solution to their subscription boxes getting stolen: bring some defense to your doorstep!

Angry baboons, swarms of bees and obnoxious insurance salesmen were just a few tricks up Man Crates’ sleeves. They even offered for a mime to trap your porch pirate in an invisible box. Packaging strikes back!

DORITOS AND CHEETOS

Doritos water April Fools

“You’re 60% water, make every drop of it bold.” Those are bold words from Doritos, who pranked their Instagram followers by announcing a fake line of flavored water bottles. You might want to get your electrolytes elsewhere, though. This water comes “with a hint of Cool Ranch or Nacho Cheese flavor.”

Cheetos Cheeteau cologne April Fools

Cheetos has also joked about taking their cheesy expertise to unexpected places. For the discerning cheese lover, the brand’s Cheeteau cologne spray would let them smell dangerously cheesy all day long. Unlike the Doritos water, Cheetos actually made their fragrance a reality and sent it out to social media influencers. We can’t say we’re jealous… but we are a bit hungry. Pass the snacks!

REESE’S: CANDY EGGS

They say that in order to make an omelet, you have to crack a few eggs… but what if all your eggs are made of candy?? Last year, Reese’s partnered with a New Jersey grocery store to surprise shoppers with a sweet treat.

Since Easter happened to fall on April 1, Reese’s took to the egg aisle. When shoppers opened up the package to check their precious cargo for cracks, they were met with a dozen Reese’s peanut butter eggs. It just goes to show you can never judge an egg by its cover!

Joking aside, April Fools’ Day is one of our favorite days at Ernest. We love pulling pranks, but we would never prank your packaging! With over 70 years of experience at our backs, our expert solutions are no laughing matter. Check out the trailer for our Dinner With Ernest series to see how we have some fun while getting work done!
