Want to meet the family?

Everyone at Ernest is a leader in their own way. When you’re committed to customer service to the extent we are, it comes naturally. Get to know the people who are dedicated to your success.

A. Charles Wilson
Chairman, CEO
Los Angeles, CA

You always know when Charles is in the office. It starts when you hear the receptionists sing out “Good morning, Mr. Wilson. How are you today?” Then you’ll see him on his rounds. Few company chairmen take the time to stop by every employee’s desk to check in and say hello (and maybe to pick up a piece of candy or two), but Charles does. He knows how important it is to make those personal connections. Since joining his brother in business after serving in World War II, this recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star has always put people first. It takes a lot of energy to mentor so many individuals, but even after almost 70 years in the business, Charles makes it a priority. The candy helps, but mostly it’s the love he has for our company and all the people here that keep him going.

Tim Wilson
President
Los Angeles, CA

Spending time with family is at the top of Tim’s list of favorite things to do. That’s an especially good thing as the president of a family-owned business because with over 450 employees, his definition of family is a bit broader than most. He prides himself on the people he has on his team — their passion, the dedication they have to their work, and their willingness to collaborate to help find the best solutions for our customers. In fact, some of his greatest joys come from celebrating the professional successes and personal milestones of his extended family.

Brian Porter
Vice President of Client Relations
Los Angeles, CA

Keeping up with Brian is tough. He’s so full of life, you never know what’s coming next. We think his previous jobs working on a cruise ship, serving as president of his city’s Little League, and managing rock bands perfectly prepared him for his life today — as father to two great boys, stepfather to two more, dedicated husband, keeper of the family animal menagerie, and Vice President of Client Relations. Brian consistently puts his incredible energy to work for everyone here at Ernest Packaging Solutions. With his great ability to make customers comfortable, his commitment to understanding their needs and objectives, and his ability to always have fun in the process, Brian is a great asset to his clients and to us. We look forward to many more years of trying to keep up with him.

Mike Pichotta
Vice President of Operations
Los Angeles, CA

Mike was a part of the Ernest Packaging Solutions family long before he joined the team as an employee. In his work for a number of our suppliers, he saw firsthand what a difference that family feeling makes. Now he’s doing his part to demonstrate our strong commitment to service on a daily basis. Mike does that by looking at things from all perspectives to help our clients and his coworkers succeed. That passion for success probably comes from his love of sports. He’s a big Miami Dolphins fan, and when he’s not rooting for them, you might find him riding dirtbikes in the desert, waterskiing and jet-skiing, or hitting the slopes on his snowboard.

Karri Wolten
Vice President of Finance
Los Angeles, CA

Karri is dedicated and committed to everything she does. Whether it’s cheering on her son at all of his soccer games or solving challenges for our clients and employees, she’s in it 100%. She has proven herself over and over again during the past 16 years as part of the Ernest Packaging Solutions family. Her experience in accounting, HR, and as our Operations Manager in Los Angeles has given her the day-to-day perspective that helps her shine as our VP of Finance. Or maybe it’s her annual trips to recharge in the surf and sun in Costa Rica that do the trick. Either way, her future looks bright.

Vince Vincent
Vice President of Talent
Los Angeles, CA

With a record like Mickey Mantle, the charisma of Joe DiMaggio, and the heart of Lou Gehrig, we think if Vince ever decides to retire from us, he has a bright future as a coach. His passion for nurturing success in everyone around him — from his family to our leadership and especially his new recruits — brings new life and energy to Ernest Packaging Solutions every day. Since 2008, Ernest has been the house that Vince built. Vince is not only getting top talent to join our Ernest family, but as keeper of the culture, he is making sure that we maintain the perfect climate for them to prosper and succeed. It’s really too bad that his favorite team, the Yankees, haven’t discovered him. Their loss is definitely our gain.

Eddie Canales
Regional VP
Raleigh, NC; Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Las Vegas, NV

If you ask Eddie what he thinks makes Ernest Packaging Solutions so successful, he would tell you it’s the people. When people work together, great things happen. This belief in teamwork and his ability to build relationships with everyone around him make him a huge asset and a great leader. He says it comes from lessons he learned on the college basketball court. We think it’s just part of his balanced, good-natured approach to life. Whatever the case, we’re learning new things from Eddie every day and are thrilled to have him on our team.

Kenny Briggs
Regional VP
Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA

Kenny loves a good competition, both personally and professionally. So it makes sense that he would return to Ernest, the company that launched his packaging career, after a decade of working for a competitor. As our General Manager, he is keeping his competitive nature on the golf course and has become passionate about sharing his years of knowledge and experience with the younger members of our sales force. And if you ask Kenny what day was his favorite day at Ernest, he’ll tell you it was the day he came back. We have to agree and couldn’t be happier to have him.

Travis Smith
Regional VP, Northwest
Boise ID; Fresno CA; Portland OR; Reno NV

Travis does everything he can to set himself and the Ernest Packaging Solutions family apart. He uses every opportunity to seek advice, expertise, and perspective from vendors and consultants to cover all angles for his customers. It’s this kind of attitude and proactive approach that has helped him and the team excel. Outside of Ernest he takes advantage of all that Portland has to offer. In his spare time you can find him with some or all of his 5 kids fishing, camping, hiking, and enjoying the great outdoors. And when the weather doesn’t cooperate, you’ll find him playing the piano and coaxing his kids to sing along.

Scott Gardner
Chief Marketing Officer
Los Angeles, CA

Both professionally and personally, Scott has a special talent for rallying people. Whether he’s coaching his kids’ baseball and soccer teams or bringing all the Ernest offices together under a compelling new brand, he knows the power of a strong, confident message. He’s a firm believer in the company’s commitment to Moving Packaging Forward and takes the idea to heart even in the way the company markets itself. He attributes this passion for our brand to the fact that the family culture at Ernest makes you always want to do your best. We know it’s really because he’s a savvy marketer who truly loves his work.

Pallet Guy
Ambassador of Woodshop Facilities
Los Angeles, CA

When it comes to our wood solutions, Pallet Guy is the resident expert here at Ernest Packaging Solutions. Whether you’re pining for the perfect crate or super committed to sustainable foresting, this guy knows everyone and everything there is to know. Pallet Guy is a tree of knowledge. He even has clout at the White House, thanks to his days spent on the front lawn! With strong roots in the Sequoia National Forest, Pallet Guy had to start his career at the bottom. The view from below gave him a different perspective that branches into his work every day here at Ernest. With a vision and purpose that helps him see the forest from the trees, he and the Ernest team are passionate about designing the perfect crate or pallet.

Cornflake

E-Team
Los Angeles, CA

Voice like gravel, hands like a vice grip and two steel-toed boots that are ready to kick ass and take names.

Porterhouse
Solutions Specialist
E-Team
Los Angeles, CA

Try to keep up with what I’m throwin’ down. Most people think my job is to bring the brawn to our crew. But don’t sleep on my brain, brothers and sisters. It’s a bad mammer-jammer. That’s how I really flex. With my mental muscle, baby.

Tyler Simmons
Director of Operations
Boise, ID

Tyler loves being part of the Ernest Packaging Solutions team because of our strong family culture, and the limitless opportunities. He is passionate about helping his team members hone their skills, so they can achieve their goals and live their dreams. The way Tyler sees it, the sky is the limit. In his free time, Tyler is an avid outdoorsman who loves fishing, refereeing college football, and spending time with his wife and their four kids. He’s happiest hunting pheasants on the River Bottom with his son and their dogs. You might be surprised to learn Tyler speaks fluent Spanish after spending two years in Puebla, Mexico. In Boise, he’s the jefe when it comes to packaging.

Stephen Turgeon
Director of Client Relations
Boise, ID

Stephen’s background in construction means he’s got all the tools he needs to build the next generation of packaging professionals. He takes prides in teaching his team about the wide range of materials and products in the Ernest catalog, and also about representing Ernest by upholding the strong brand culture that’s been an integral part our business for over 70 years. Stephen loves the sense of camaraderie at Ernest. He appreciates the support he receives to help him succeed and the freedom to make his own choices. Most importantly, he loves that people here care about life outside the company—just like a real family. When he’s not busy training his crew, you can bet Stephen’s keeping busy at home with his wife, Ryann, and their three sons. An avid builder, Stephen loves making things and his wife loves giving him projects—so it’s a win-win. Add to that his self-proclaimed geekiness (the force is strong with this one), and his boys’ penchant for wrestling, and Stephen is always having fun, whether he’s at work or at home. Sounds like a blueprint for happiness, and success.

Dion Doshier
General Manager
Fresno, CA

With over 20 years experience in leadership roles at a Fortune 500 company, Dion Doshier knows what it takes to succeed: a play-to-win mindset, an innovative approach, and relentless drive to be the best. But it’s the family-like culture and his team’s creative energy that brought him to Ernest. As our General Manager in Fresno, Dion brings together the best of both worlds, a growth minded, team culture driven by the desire to be Central California’s number one packaging solutions provider. Outside of work, Dion loves spending time with his family—from watching his kids play softball and volleyball, to camping and hiking in the great outdoors. He also enjoys trail and ultra running, and competes in several races each year. It’s hard to miss his boundless energy and drive to succeed.

Nancy Weaver
Director of Operations
Fresno, CA

Having two boys at home has taught Nancy to appreciate every opportunity for growth and learning and she definitely takes advantage of all of them. She has played a critical role in maintaining the janitorial/sanitation expertise in our Fresno location while actively partnering with our packaging vendors to grow in that area. Every day brings new challenges, and Nancy tackles each opportunity with a commitment to doing her best and a smile.

Mathew Todd
Director of Client Relations
Fresno, CA

For Mathew Todd, every day is a chance to learn, to grow, and to do better than the day before. His favorite saying is: There’s no growth in the comfort zone, and no comfort in the growth zone. This applies to himself as a leader and to his team, who he helps develop both personally and professionally. Having spent the first decade of his career in a Fortune 500 company, Mathew brings a unique ability to train top tier employees who are (in his words) rock stars in their own right. He loves being part of Ernest because we understand the value of people—and so does he. Mathew is passionate about building long-term relationships with every client, and works to instill this drive in his team, too. He loves that Ernest focuses on solving problems, not just selling products.

Outside of work Mathew passionate loves travel and adventure. He and his fiancé spend most weekends camping and boating in the nearby mountains, or exploring new places around the country and diving into the local cuisine and culture. This endless drive to learn and grow makes him a great keeper of the Ernest culture, too.

Aaron Bowles
Director of Client Relations
Fresno, CA

Aaron breeds success by fostering a competitive and challenging environment that rewards hard work. His goal is to make everyone on his team a hero. He loves nothing more than seeing one of his team members achieve a goal they’ve been working towards. He’s especially proud when they get out of their comfort zone because that’s the only way to grow. A Central Valley native, Aaron is an avid golfer and loves spending time in the great outdoors, camping or going to the beach with his family of six. He and his wife are even on the slow-pitch softball tournament circuit. Bringing this same energy and enthusiasm to everything he does makes Aaron a great keeper of Ernest’s culture of accomplishment, gratification, and gratitude.

Randi Fogle
Director of Client Relations
Fresno, CA

For Randi, there is no greater purpose in life than helping people. That’s what drew her to the Ernest Packaging Solutions family and how we knew she was the perfect person to support our Central Coast clients. Her problem-solving skills and commitment to outstanding service helped her build a thriving network over a strong career in sales. With proven expertise in JIT inventory and a unique ability to help clients find solutions that stand out in the market, Randi delivers impact and inspiration to her clients and the rest of the Ernest team.

Originally from Georgia, Randi came to California early in her career. She likes to say she went from the land of grits and greens to the world of fruits and nuts. And she fits right in. Being an avid foodie and married to a winemaker, Randi enjoys everything the Central Coast has to offer. When she’s not helping her clients, you’ll find her exploring the beauty of the great outdoors with her husband and their three rescue dogs from the comfort of their Airstream trailer. As someone who has always believed that you work for what you want, Randi is thrilled to be part of a company she admires and we’re thrilled that her enthusiasm and commitment to the Ernest culture has found a home here.

Justin Jordan
Director of Client Relations
Houston, TX

Along with his relentless desire to innovate and succeed, Justin brings a unique skill to the table: he speaks both Sales and Ops. That’s right, he’s bi-lingual, which helps him really engage with customer processes and procedures. “The more you understand and respect the operations side of things, the faster you can drive speed to revenue in sales.” Ernest is the perfect place to put this knowledge to work for his whole team. A Las Vegas native, Justin lived overseas as a teenager and was an NCAA student in college, playing men’s volleyball for Penn State. He is an avid fan of UFC, “the closest thing Las Vegas has to a home team,” and enjoys doing CrossFit training several times a week, even competing at a local level. Justin’s energy and enthusiasm make him an excellent team leader as well as a team player—and one who plays to win.

Dedge Lee
Director of Client Relations

He is a hands-on leader who’s not afraid to carry the bag, and is excited to get out in the field and develop his team. With his devotion to teamwork, it’s no surprise he says every day at Ernest is a great day. When Dedge isn’t hard at work building his team and working with clients, he loves spending time outdoors with his family. His commitment to being a player-coach, means you’ll be seeing him out in the field with his team often, which is what makes the Ernest culture a perfect fit for him. He loves the persistence, teamwork, and dedication to the needs of clients that are the hallmarks of how we do business.

Bill Evans
General Manager
Las Vegas, NV

Little did Bill know that when Ernest Packaging Solutions bought the company he was working for in 1998, it would change the direction of his life. As part of the Ernest family, he loves that he has the freedom to make decisions and a team of colleagues that he calls “the hardest working and most dedicated people I have ever seen.” And that’s quite a complement from someone with his experience. It’s also why he’s committed to finding the best ways to do things, striving to help his staff work smarter, and always looking at the details. Being part of Ernest’s success is just his way of giving back.

Sarah Budz
Director of Operations
Las Vegas, NV

Who says you can’t learn anything from TV? Not Sarah! She adapts many of the problem-solving skills she’s learned from her favorite TV show “House” to deliver better custom corrugated solutions for her customers. Luckily, she has much better people skills than the show’s cranky leading man. For Sarah, every quote is an opportunity to ask herself if there’s a better style or process for her customers. Finding those solutions makes her job fun!

Luke Gordon
Director of Client Relations
Las Vegas, NV

As a firm believer in the difference the right people can make, Luke is excited to be a part of the Ernest Packaging Solutions family and the Las Vegas team. By building upon a strong foundation of rock-solid relationships, Luke is taking Ernest’s innovative approach to packaging to even more customers. He prides himself on doing things in a new way. Maybe that’s why he fits in so well around here. When Luke’s not busy connecting clients with the best packaging solutions, you can find him spending time with his five young kids, or watching the Seattle Seahawks.

Kenny Briggs
General Manager
Los Angeles, CA

Kenny loves a good competition, both personally and professionally. So it makes sense that he would return to Ernest, the company that launched his packaging career, after a decade of working for a competitor. As our General Manager, he is keeping his competitive nature on the golf course and has become passionate about sharing his years of knowledge and experience with the younger members of our sales force. And if you ask Kenny what day was his favorite day at Ernest, he’ll tell you it was the day he came back. We have to agree and couldn’t be happier to have him.

Eric C. Sander
Director of Client Relations
Los Angeles, CA

You might call Eric the ultimate fan. Whether it’s his family, his favorite sports teams, or his fellow coworkers, he’s always cheering people on and showing his support. Maybe that’s why he’s such an amazing mentor for our Customer Relationship Managers and our customers, too. Whether you’re talking about new ideas, individuals, or our customers’ businesses, he loves seeing things move forward. And anywhere he can make a contribution, he will.

Kevin Young
Director of Client Relations
Los Angeles, CA

When you ask Kevin what he loves about working at Ernest, he’ll tell you, “The company vision and reputation can’t be beat, but it’s the people, their energy and capabilities that make all the difference.” With his can-do attitude and powerful enthusiasm, he’s a perfect match. Plus, he’s fun to be around. He loves good movies like The Godfather or Goodfellas, is a big football fan, and enjoys a great book The DaVinci Code and Red Storm Rising are two favorites. What more can you ask for in a colleague and a collaborator?

Scott Crutchfield
Director of Operations
Los Angeles, CA

If there’s one thing Scott specializes in, it’s fresh perspective. He’s always helping our teams find new ways to strengthen relationships with our vendors and uncover unexpected solutions for our customers’ toughest packaging challenges. Scott has made it his personal mission to find opportunities to improve operations here at Ernest Packaging Solutions in whatever way he can. And that’s no small feat when you’re already working for a world-class organization! Good thing Scott takes plenty of time in the great outdoors, where he fly fishes, golfs, and mountain bikes with his family to refuel. All that fresh air is his secret weapon.

Gerard Lee
Director of Client Relations
Los Angeles, CA

Gerard Lee likes to stay ahead of the curve. As Director of Client Relations in our Los Angeles office, he’s moving packaging forward by helping his customers improve their productivity, and profitability. Gerard takes a personal approach to sales. “It’s not just about cutting a good deal on something they’re already using,” he says. “It’s about finding a better way.” He loves being part of a company that does things differently—in fact, that’s what attracted him to Ernest to begin with. He also loves our family culture, and never felt it more than when his co-workers threw him a surprise baby-shower—we love welcoming a new member! A New England native, Gerard has a religious passion for his hometown teams—the Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins. When he doesn’t have his hands full connecting customers with innovative ideas, or being a new dad, you might catch him making a trip back east to take in a game or two. Whatever the score, we think Gerard’s on a winning streak here at Ernest.

Dan Weisbach
Director of Client Relations
Los Angeles, CA

Dan brings a long history of sales management excellence to the table. He defines success not by how well he does, but by how well his whole team does, and fosters a “winning culture” wherever he goes. Dan is a great leader because he teaches his people to take pride in their own accomplishments as well as their shared mission to be the best they can be. Outside of work Dan and his wife love to travel, venturing to new places whenever they have the opportunity. When they’re not on the road, they love cooking, eating out, seeing live bands, and spending time with their cats. An avid film buff, Dan loves anything by Tarantino or Wes Andersen almost as much as he loves playing with the latest technology and gadgets. Bringing that same enthusiasm and passion to his work is how Dan keeps moving his team forward every day.

Joseph Tongko
Director of Client Relations
Los Angeles, CA

Joe is a born leader who measures his success by how many new accounts his team opens, and how many of his rookies stay on board. Having spent over a decade in large corporations, where he worked his way up to district sales manager, he’s thrilled to be part of a family-owned business with room to grow. Joe considers himself a simple man. We might argue that his background, from running crowd control at Disneyland to jumping out of airplanes for Red Bull, suggests otherwise—but his straightforward approach to sales and management really gets the job done.

When he’s off the clock, Joe stays busy with his four kids. They make the most of all Southern California has to offer—hiking, going to the beach, and taking their dog Winston on outdoor adventures. He also enjoys watching hockey with his sons, who are both die-hard fans, and belting out car-karaoke tunes with his daughters, who know the words to every Queen song. Plus, he loves surfing, snowboarding, and going to the gym. With Joe’s endless energy and his family-oriented spirit, he’s made for the Ernest culture. Maybe we can even get him to go sky-diving for our next Ernest challenge.

Brian Allen
General Manager
Phoenix, AZ

Brian is on a mission to open doors, and close business. In everything he does, he focuses on setting Ernest apart. That means building the strongest, smartest, best equipped sales team around, and adding value for every customer. When he’s not busy bringing the best packaging solutions to new Ernest clients, Brian loves spending time with his wife and their four children. A Chicago native, he’s a huge Cubs fan and can’t wait to see what his hometown team does in the next few years. With his passion for winning, we know Brian’s going to knock it out of the ballpark here at Ernest.

Greg Powers
Director of Client Relations
Phoenix, AZ

Greg is a free thinker who loves what he does—and it shows. He begins every client relationship by really getting to know people personally, so he can find out what they need, and make it happen. Greg’s approach is geared the same way Ernest as a whole is: driving sales by taking care of our customers. This people-first focus and positive attitude make him a great team leader and an excellent Director of Client Relations. When he’s not busy consulting with customers, Greg loves playing tennis, golf, and anything else that lets him spend time outside. A Kansas native, he’s a die-hard KU Jayhawks fan—Rock, Chalk, Go Jayhawk! Greg also loves spending time with his family including his son and daughter, and is pursuing a lifelong goal of becoming fluent in Spanish. Keep up the buen trabajo, señor.

James Yi
Director of Client Relations
Phoenix, AZ

Helping people reach their full potential is one of James’s specialties. Whether you’re talking about our clients or the client relationships managers on his team, he knows what it takes to uncover needs, develop goals, and put together a winning plan to get there. His history with the Ernest Packaging Solutions family helps. Before joining the team, James worked closely with our CRMs as a representative for one of our suppliers. Everyone loved working with him so much that we officially made him part of the family and can tap into his leadership and relationship building skills every day.

James enjoys helping his team channel their tenacity, energy, and drive in supporting our clients. Luckily, he has lots of experience wrangling great potential at home since his three-year-old daughter keeps him on his toes. James, his wife, and daughter love spending time outdoors hiking and camping. Or you might find him watching his favorite comedy and horror movies after bedtime. Luckily for the team and our clients, there’s nothing scary about his well-rounded approach to life and work.

Ryan Harris
General Manager

Whether he’s out in the field or in the office, Ryan loves watching his people grow and helping them make every day count. A highly focused leader, he gives everyone on his team the tools they need to succeed and add value for every client. Ryan loves working at Ernest because everyone shares his positive attitude, strong work ethic, and selfless approach. Plus, he loves that we do things differently. He does, too! When he’s not busy driving success at work, Ryan enjoys his role as a dedicated husband and father. He loves to read, and plays basketball and golf in his free time. At the end of the day his family always comes first, which makes him a perfect fit for the Ernest family, too.

Kiera Rouissi
Director of Operations
Portland, OR

Looking for something tasty to eat? Talk to Kiera! She’s our resident foodie and knows all the great restaurants and tasty recipes. Whether at the dinner table or at work, her passion for excellence is infectious. She loves great literature, fine design, beautiful architecture, and good people. It’s this passionate approach to life and determination that drives her every day at Ernest Packaging Solutions. What she doesn’t know is that while she looks to others for her motivation, she is inspiring and motivating everyone around her.

Jerryl Dickey
Director of Client Relations
Portland, Oregon

Jerryl likes to keep things simple, whether he’s leading his sales team or coaching his son’s football team. At work he calls it “business 101.” If you say you’re going to do something, do it. If the phone rings, answer it. When you meet a new client, follow up. Take the long-term view and put in the work to cultivate lasting client relationships. It’s the equivalent of teaching blocking-and-tackling on the football field—execute the basics and success will follow. As a mentor and a coach, Jerryl excels at these fundamentals and takes his responsibility to foster these skills in his team very seriously.

He especially loves making an impact on team members early in their careers, and we love his straightforward approach and powerful commitment to leading by example. Outside of work Jerry likes to stay active, playing golf whenever he can and exploring the beautiful Northwest with his wife and two kids. Whether it’s hiking, swimming, boating, or getting involved by supporting his kids’ sports teams and other activities, you can always count on Jerryl to give 100%.

Eddie Canales
General Manager
Raleigh-Durham, NC

If you ask Eddie what he thinks makes Ernest Packaging Solutions so successful, he would tell you it’s the people. When people work together, great things happen. This belief in teamwork and his ability to build relationships with everyone around him make him a huge asset and a great leader. He says it comes from lessons he learned on the college basketball court. We think it’s just part of his balanced, good-natured approach to life. Whatever the case, we’re learning new things from Eddie every day and are thrilled to have him on our team.

Steve Clements
Director of Client Relations
Raleigh-Durham, NC

Steve’s secret to success is creating a positive environment where everyone is working together to achieve a common goal. He also focuses on building strong relationships with both clients and team members. By wanting the best for every individual, offering support and direction when needed, and having a genuine desire to help people win, Steve creates the enthusiasm and energy that enables them to get things done. Prior to joining the Ernest family, he spent 17 years with Sherwin Williams, where he filled just about every sales role possible, from working in-store to outside sales, district management, and finally leadership. He brings to the table a unique depth of experience and insight into every level of business that benefits everyone around him.

Outside of the office, Steve likes to keep busy and get his hands dirty. An avid golfer, he hits the links whenever he can and especially enjoys playing a round or two with his son. He also loves spending time with his wife and daughter, watching his kids play seasonal sports, and working on remodeling projects around the house.

Winston “PJ” Lockard
Director of Client Relations
Raleigh-Durham, NC

With more than a decade’s experience in food product, packaging, and jan-san distribution throughout the Southeastern region, PJ knows the market better than anyone. He’s worked at every level of sales and has a proven ability to understand customer needs, identify opportunities, and increase market share. PJ understands that the key to success is building relationships, which starts with earning your customers’ trust. As a leader, he drives his team to do whatever it takes to meet their goals—which means going into every sales meeting believing you’re going to win their business. He loves being part of a family-run company that’s also a major player in the national market.

Outside of work PJ keeps busy with his wife and twins. Between coaching his son’s soccer and basketball teams and being an honorary Girl Scout with his daughter, there’s never a dull (or free) moment. And while he played collegiate football back in the day, you won’t find him yelling on the sidelines when his kids are on the field—he channels that competitive spirit into sales. On a personal level, PJ measures his success each day by how many people he can make smile. That’s not just good for his whole team, it’s good for business, too.

David Shaffer
Director of Client Relations
Raleigh-Durham, NC

David brings a wealth of experience and expertise to every account relationship, combining years of working in the corporate world with that special Ernest personal touch. A family man at heart, David loves our close-knit culture and strives every day to help his team grow, develop, and achieve their individual goals—which is also how he keeps the company moving forward. His philosophy is simple: When one of us succeeds, we all succeed, including our clients.

Outside of work, David has plenty to keep him busy. He’s learning Spanish from his Peruvian wife, with whom he loves to travel, visiting as many destinations as they can each year—from Italy to Israel and beyond. His son and daughter are both in college, but the nest isn’t empty just yet. David volunteers with his local Golden Retriever rescue organization, fostering dogs in need…which often end up joining the family. He loves to take his furry companions to the lake, for hikes, and to throw their tennis ball all day long. Clearly, commitment and loyalty are just part of who he is, and our customers and his dogs get all the benefit!

Anne Sioson Carbajal
Director of Operations
Reno, NV

If ever there was a shining example of a versatile team player, Anne Sioson Carbajal is it. Anne has been an integral part of the Ernest Packaging Solutions family for more than a decade, and has enthusiastically stepped into a variety of roles with willingness and an always-positive attitude. From training our support teams and Customer Relationship Managers, to overseeing our 30-person Business Services team, to leading the charge as the business process owner for sales and distribution during our SAP conversion and serving seven years on the Ernest Brand Council, her dedication and drive have made us a better company. As the Director of Operations in Reno, she builds on deep experience in sales and operations at Ernest and beyond. Her reputation for raising up successors and building her team’s expertise means lots of potential for individual and divisional development. Mentoring and empowering others are Anne’s specialties.

Anne is excited for what the move to Reno from Southern California means for her family. While she’ll miss the LA and San Diego teams, she’s excited for all of the business growth happening in the Greater Reno and Northern Nevada area, not having as much traffic to contend with, and all the outdoor activities nearby. Her husband and two young kids love dirt biking and exploring nature, which Anne supports whole-heartedly. It’s exactly this kind of all-in approach that will make her a powerful part of the Team Reno leadership.

Clayton Spicer
Director of Client Relations
Reno, NV

When it comes to building a strong culture and living by your values, Clayton Spicer immediately knew that Ernest Packaging Solutions stands out from the crowd. After starting his career at a Fortune 50 company and most recently working in a family run business, he found the best of both worlds here at Ernest — corporate structure, with a family feel. Clayton’s leadership style and commitment to strong relationships fits perfectly with the Ernest Way and our CURE philosophy of powerfully supporting our customers.

Clayton is excited about helping to create a great future for his team—from finding top talent in the market and honing their skills to getting out in the field and building new relationships. He’s a big believer in the basics, which may explain his passion for fly fishing. While Clayton left the fly-fishing mecca of Boseman, Montana, casting in the Truckee River is a pretty good consolation. If you don’t find him waist-deep in water, Clayton loves spending time in other outdoor pursuits with his wife and two kids. Whether its winter sports, hiking, or playing golf, he knows how to make the most of every opportunity that Reno and the surrounding areas offer.

Gavin Jackson
General Manager
Salt Lake City, UT

With over 20 years’ experience in sales, operations, and distribution, Gavin likes to roll up his sleeves and get involved, earning the trust of both his customers and his team—which is how he brings out the best in people. His approach to leadership is to coach, teach, and train where needed, and to be a reassuring partner along the way. One of his proudest accomplishments was overseeing the acquisition of a 30-year-old family-owned business, and managing the transition without losing any of the company’s crew. In fact, he did such a good job of maintaining the status quo that they made “Team Gavin” t-shirts to show their support. Gavin loves to spend time outdoors with his family, hiking in summer and skiing in winter. And with all three of his daughters involved in theatre and sports (volleyball, basketball, and soccer), there’s always a game or a performance to watch. A lifelong Denver Broncos fan, he also loves watching football and soccer. We’re betting on Team Gavin for the win on all fronts.
